The Sacred Conversation with Saints Catherine and Thomas of 1526-1528, by Lorenzo Lotto (Venice, about 1480 - Loreto, about 1556), depicts an original sacred-themed scene from the unusual composition that the painter chose to represent the characters through a spontaneity of gestures that visualize the intense exchange of thoughts and premonitions on the destiny of Jesus. The arrival of the painting is part of the larger project entitled A masterpiece for Venice, conceived by the Gallerie dell'Accademia di Venezia in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo as Main Partner, which plans to exhibit in rotation, in the rooms of the museum, some masterpieces of the Venetian Renaissance, coming from major international museums, in the belief that works of art constitute a bridge for knowledge and cultural dialogue at all times.
