Baselitz – Academy

At the heart of Baselitz - Academy are the Italian historical-artistic tradition and the legacy of the Academy filtered by the work of Georg Baselitz (Deutschbaselitz, Saxony, 1938), a contemporary Master with a deep and full-bodied passion for art history , in particular for the Italian Renaissance and the works of Giovanni di Paolo, Rosso Fiorentino and Jacopo da Pontormo. The traces of the ancient Masters loved by the German painter punctuate the exhibition route set up along seven rooms at the Accademia Galleries, emerging ubiquitously from paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures, among which the designs inspired by Pontormo, the famous upside-down portraits and the majestic paintings of nudes emerge.
