Between East and West, two master calligraphers meet in Venice

Part of EAST-WEST CALLIGRAPHY - Exhibition of calligraphy between East and West, which, through different types of events, intends to delve deeper into the complexity and variety of forms and messages that the ancient art of handwriting is capable of communicating, the exhibition that starring the two master calligraphers Kazuaki Tanahashi and Monica Dengo, offers the public an approach to handwriting conceived as an all-round artistic expression and vehicle of knowledge. It is a meeting beyond geographical, cultural and temporal boundaries that takes place in the precious Hall of the Four Doors of the Pinacoteca of the Correr Museum between Kazuaki Tanahashi, born in Japan in 1933 and active in the United States since 1977, artist, writer, Zen master, operator of peace and environmentalist, pioneer of the "single stroke" painting technique, created with the use of brushes of various shapes and sizes, and Monica Dengo, born in Italy in 1966, active in the rediscovery and diffusion of Western calligraphy and book arts, always committed to the investigation of handwriting as an expression of oneself and in the relationships and mutual exchanges between East and West through the art of calligraphy.
