From Vivarini to Tiepolo. New Acquisitions for the Gallerie dell'Accademia


Gallerie dell'Accademia present to the public ten new unpublished works in an exhibition curated by Michele Nicolaci, all of the recently acquired works are housed in a new space intended for thematic exhibitions, Room XVIa of the so-called Palladian Rooms of the Museum, recently reopened after the restoration. Among the new masterpieces that enrich the Museum Collection, all coming from private or inaccessible collections, are the never before exhibited painting Samson and Delilah by the Venetian painter Giulia Lama, three panels and a Scene from the Life of St. Peter the Martyr by Antonio Vivarini and a drawing by Giambattista Tiepolo, next to the Pair of Lovers (The Declaration) by Bonifacio de' Pitati, the large canvas with Christ before Caiaphas by Pietro Ricchi and an unpublished and small canvas by Francesco Fontebasso.
