The opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi with libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, inspired by the stage-play La Dame aux Camélias by Alexandre Dumas (the son), which the same author based on his novel by the same name, is considered part of the “popular trilogy” of Verdi, along with Il Trovatore and Rigoletto. The Fenice welcomes it back to the stage that hosted it 166 years ago, with the musical direction of Maestri Lanzillotta and Marco Paladin, the direction of Robert Carsen, scenes and costumes by Patrick Kinmonth, choreography by Philippe Giraudeau, with subtitles in Italian and English.
