Among the most talented American artists of his generation (1960), Walton Ford presents a large site-specific exhibition at the Ateneo Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in Venice - his first solo exhibition in Italy - consisting of a new corpus of works created specifically in reference to the collection of the institution that hosts it, known as one of the oldest and most accredited in the Lagoon city. Lion of God, curated by Udo Kittelmann and organized by the Kasmin Gallery in New York, presents a series of large watercolors that investigate both the historical and biological and environmental dimensions of the subjects represented in the collection of the Ateneo Library, specifically, the figure of the lion in Tintoretto's Apparition of the Virgin to Saint Jerome (circa 1580). The exhibition path is divided into two rooms of the Ateneo Veneto, the Aula Magna on the ground floor and the Sala Tommaseo, where it will be possible to admire Tintoretto's work for the entire duration of the exhibition.
