Tribute to Venice. Works from the Collection of the Bank of Italy

Marinella Senatore, Senza titolo, 2020, Stampa e acrilico su tela, 26 elementi, 40 × 40 cm, Dettaglio

The exhibition, curated by Pier Paolo Pancotto, presents 22 works by some of the most significant exponents of contemporary art, different in training, culture and experience but linked for personal or professional reasons to Venice, which constitute a sort of ideal tribute to the authors to the Lagoon city. The staging of the exhibited works harmoniously adapts to the layout of the building, respecting its historical-cultural identity, and the inclusion of contemporary works in the monumental context offers an unprecedented dialogue, offering unexpected perspectives to visitors. The Banca d'Italia initiative intends to make the public aware of an important nucleus of works from its Collection, mostly set up in the executive offices and therefore usually not visible, by opening the doors of the historic Palazzo Dolfin Manin overlooking the Grand Canal to the public again. On display works by - among others - Carla Accardi, Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Renato Guttuso, Tancredi Parmeggiani, Emilio Vedova.
