Venice Pavilion

Blurry Venice, Venice Pavilion - 58th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale

The Venice Pavilion at the Biennale Gardens - built by the architect Brenno Del Giudice in 1932 - houses seven different artists from different places on the planet: Mirko Borsche, Lorenzo Dante Ferro, Sidival Fila, Ferzan Özpetek, Plastique Fantastique, Fabio Viale and George Koumentakis. Each of them elaborated on the occasion of the 58th International Art Exhibition of the Biennale its deep creative connection with the Lagoon city, inspired by the typical urban configuration and its history that borders on myth. A dreamlike city made of fog, sublime art and secular mysticism materializes around the visitors of a pavilion that becomes a total work of art, receptacle of those elements that symbolize the essence of Venice, such as sacred images, boats, the water and the bricole, to compose a microcosm of stone, marble, wood, rope and fabric that evokes a Genius loci with an imperishable charm.
